HACCP Training Courses
We offer accredited HACCP training courses for food safety, including:
- Level 2 Award in Understanding HACCP
- Level 2 Award in Understanding HACCP for the meat industry
- Level 3 Award in Understanding How to Develop a HACCP Plan
- Level 3 Award in Understanding How to Develop a HACCP Plan in the meat industry
These Level 2 HACCP and Level 3 HACCP courses can be adapted to focus on catering, retail, logistics and the meat industry for HACCP in food businesses.
Legislation requires that food handlers are trained commensurate with their role and activities within the food business, with specific additional HACCP training for HACCP team members. Regulation EC No. 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs (Article 5) states that food business operators must implement a food safety management system based on the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.
Level 2 HACCP Courses
These accredited Level 2 HACCP courses and qualifications are particularly useful for those involved in the implementation and maintenance of HACCP and individuals who are, or intend to become, members of HACCP teams.
This qualification is on The Education and Skills Funding Agency list of qualifications approved for funding.
Who are the Level 2 HACCP Courses for?
This qualification is appropriate for all persons employed in food and food related businesses who need to have an understanding of HACCP.
It is particularly useful for those who intend to become members of HACCP teams.
Pre-requisites for the Level 2 HACCP Courses
It is advised that as a minimum candidates have a knowledge of food safety, via a Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene (or similar qualification), with the qualification passed within the past 3 years.
Level 3 HACCP Courses
These accredited Level 3 HACCP courses and qualifications are primarily aimed at supervisors/managers working within the food manufacturing industry, but it is also an ideal qualification for those who wish to become part of the HACCP team.

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) provides an effective and practicable management tool for identifying food safety hazards and ensuring that adequate controls are in place.
This qualification covers the importance of HACCP-based food safety management procedures, the preliminary processes for HACCP-based procedures, development of the procedures, monitoring of critical control points and corrective actions and the evaluation of the procedures.
Learners will have the appropriate knowledge and understanding to be an integral part of a HACCP team and to supervise the implementation of a HACCP-based system in the work environment.
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual/CCEA and Qualification Wales.
